Yes! There are heaps of first-time skaters that start on a Penny Skateboard.
We reckon it's better to start with a bit of extra board under your feet. We recommend starting on the 27" option of the 22", as it will be easier for you to get the hang of skating and cruising around the streets. Penny Boards are built for cruising! It's the name of our game.
Our boards have wheels that are bigger and softer than traditional skateboards, which will help you to skate over cracks and bumps on the road. With our boards being a bit smaller, this means they can turn sharper and quicker, making them super responsive! We reckon if you learn to cruise and carve on a Penny Board, you should have acquired the skills to ride almost any other board shape comfortably, with some minor changes to your stance.
A lot of Penny riders often progress from the 27" board onto our other sized boards, depending on their own skating journey.
